Challenges

I belong to a couple of knitting groups both physically and online.
I'm doing hats for premature babies and also blankets that are going to Israel. The handover and deadline for these is October 31st.
One of the blankets for Israel

One of the online groups I belong to gave a shout out for people to knit/crochet eight inch squares, so I thought we'd give it a go.
I want to do it as a family project, so Clark and Callum have said they will knit/crochet a few.
Here's the link to the charity

Cody has already started.

I crocheted the three on the table in front of him and he started his first one, he's actually nearly finished it as I took this picture earlier this afternoon.
I've got a stash of about ten hats already but I did these two last night

I've set myself a challenge of crocheting a square and knitting a hat a night. I don't knit/crochet every night but I do manage quite a few nights a week.
Then I've also get this one the go, so when I 've done my square and hat (and blogged, of course!) I will try and do a couple of rounds of this

That should keep me out of trouble shouldn't it?

  3. Love the crocheted blanket, Bridget, such lovely bright colours. And its great that Cody is getting involved. I have also been knitting blanket squares, using up all the tiny scraps of yarn making all kinds of striped designs. I was going to send them to the KAS (Knit A Square) charity, but last time I sent them stuff it cost almost £9 in postage, so I've decided to make a blanket for home and donate money instead. I've sewn 36 8x8in squares together and will do a crocheted border. It will sit on the back of the sofa and whenever anyone compalins they are cold they can wrap up in it rather than put the heating on! LOL! I'm working on another blanket where each of the squares is in a different colour and stitch pattern. It's supposed to be for a cot blanket but I'll do double the squares and again it can either go over the sofa or on one of the beds.

    1. I use to knit for KAS within a group and we"d send two parcels a year, even the cheapest way possibly it was really expensive and took a couple of months to get there.
Looking forward to seeing both your blankets when they"re finished xx
