Having a "Blonde" moment !

Apologies to all blondes who read this blog!
Several weeks ago I bought some wool with a view to knitting Cody a nice jumper or cardi.

Before I started Cals cable jumper I looked out this wool and tried to find a pattern that I could use, so it would all ready and waiting for me. To my dismay I found I would need about 400grms for a jumper for him and I couldn't understand why I'd only bought two balls.
So today Malc and I had a couple of hours out on our own, we went for a delicious cream tea at this place where the lovely wool shop that I buy my wool from is too.
So I bought another two balls and got home only to find that the balls are 200grms each! So I had bought enough! I can't believe I didn't realise how much bigger the ball was than the usual 100 grms I buy.
On the up side I now have enough wool to do Cody AND Soloman matching jumpers!

  1. Ha ha, I have moments like that too, I don't know about you but mine are getting more frequent. On the plus side, you can never have too much yarn.

  3. We expect to see two jumpers knitted by tomorrow night! only joking ! but I bet it won't take you too long to get them done you knit so fast :)
Matching jumpers reminded me of when my four were very young. If we were headed on a day out somewhere we would dress them all the same - think jeans or dungarees with the same coloured tee shirts. Then if we lost someone it would be easy to just say - he/she is dressed just like this but is younger/older. We never lost anyone so I didn't get a chance to try it out LOL.
I have a lovely photo of my four, and my niece and nephew all dressed in arran jumpers knitted by my mum one summer :)

  4. I bet you cherish that photo x I usually do mine the same jumper but they choose the colour that want so they tend to end up different. Soloman and Cody are nearly the same size so they're probably end up putting the other ones on anyway!

  5. Serendipity, the only word for it. I have spotted fabric in a sale and pounced on it only to get home and find that I bought the same on the last trip. I have also been shopping spotted a top in the sale and pounced only to get home and find the identical article in the wardrobe.

    1. At least it showed that you really liked the fabric especially if you bought it twice!

  6. There's always an upside to these situations. Now you get two jumpers instead of one.
