I hear thunder!

I have been since 3-30am this morning, we had no rain just the thunder and lightening.

It's been on and off all day, we had some particularly loud thunder about midday when I was at Mums and we've just had quite a bit of both with heavy rain at about 2o'clock whilst I was making a couple of quiches and a meat pie for our tea. I also had a couple of caulis that needed to be used up so I've made a big cauliflower cheese for tea tonight and a couple of smaller ones to go in the freezer.
I'm now sitting in beautiful sunshine streaming in through my window.
What a weird weather day!
What's it been like where you are?

  1. We get scary thunder storms here. Couple of years ago our next door neighbor had a 40 foot tree come down right next to her house during one of the storms.

    1. That doesn't sound good! Sounds like your neighbour was lucky it didn't hit her house x

  2. The last few days have been cold and rainy with rolling thunder but today we have had a warm sunny couple of hours, just enough to dry my washing :-) I was awake from 3am until 5:30 this morning, i went into the spare bedroom to read with a nice glass of hot milk. Only thing is I feel like a power nap now!! xx

  4. We haven't long since had a downpour, just as Eleanor was walking home from school. Typical.

  5. We actually had a tornado hit four miles from us yesterday (nearer as the crow flies) It hit us a a severe squall and was a pretty scary few minutes. Quite nice today and was able to get into the garden

  7. We've had weird weather here in Dover too. On Thursday we had hail, then thunder and lightening, and finally brilliant sunshine all within a five minute period of time.

  8. Weve had very little in the way of thunderstorms but the one we did have was SO loud, and the lightning SO bright that it scared us a little.
