I don't know much about poodles. I don't particularly like the show cut. The reason why they're cut like it was explained and I can see the reasoning behind it. It's so great when a dog has a lot of character. We've had a couple that will never been forgotten because of their antics!
He's a lovely dog. It was so funny when they interviewed his owners and he just fell asleep on the couch, as if to say 'I've done my bit, paraded in front of the world with a silly haircut and now I'm done'.
Many years ago I had a standard, he was apricot, not a manly colour so we named him John Wayne. I do not care for the exaggerated show cut but boy does he have Personality. He trotted round quite confident that he was not only the most handsome male in the building but that it was a foregone conclusion that he would be crowned. Much as Colin was a super little dog he just did not have the presence, I really liked the American Cocker but not the thought of all that grooming.
He was a smasher! I wanted him or the American Cocker to win. Apparently they were bred by the same breeder. Wasn't so keen on the Samoyed. John Wayne is a great name!
my friend Brian had a standard called Indigo. Brian always said they were very underestimated dogs. Indigo was very bright and a terrible thief!
