Tulouse

Tulouse, Tula for short is a cross breed between a Bichon Frise

and a Yorkshire Terrier

The result is this

Or this when she's clipped

Which judging by the first picture looks about due!
She's called Toulouse because Bichons originate from France, Tulouse is a place in France!
She was seven years old on December 28th last year.
She's a really friendly little dog who is brilliant with any dogs she meets, she doesn't chase balls or sticks but her recall is fantastic. If I want the dogs to come back to me Tula is the one I call and the rest of the pack follow.
I use two commands for recall either "come" or "leads on". The second command is used when the walk is coming to an end or if we see other dogs coming towards us on their leads then we tend to put ours on too.
Somebody asked in a comment last week if the dogs slept in a heap and I said they usually slept in twos and threes, but today I took a couple of pictures of them sleeping like this!
This one of five of them all together

And this one withTyxall looking up to see what I was doing

In other news, Eden had her paid singing at church today, the boys have been playing outside since midday.
One of these turned up

The boys all got out their piggy banks and bought themselves one. There's always one that has to go bigger and better, here's Clark with his huge ice-cream!

It's called a 'double'! I don't think he's going to want much for tea

  1. Awww, Tulouse is gorgeous. I can see both breeds in her. Archie is booked in for a trim on Thursday, he looks so cute when he's first done. He's usually very good when he's off his lead, but I know what you mean about putting them back on when other dogs are on theirs, we tend to do the same. I hope Clark doesn't feel sick after that huge ice cream.

    1. There's a new thing come out for dog walkers, if your dog doesn't like other dogs you tie a yellow ribbon on their lead so that others know. If a dog is loose we will leave ours off but if any dogs are on a lead we always put ours on. It's just easier! Clark went back out to play and ran/cycled off all those calories. Oh, to be young!!

    2. When Sophie used to be around horses a lot if there were any that had a habit of kicking they had a ribbon tied to their tail as a warning not to get behind them - sounds like a similar kind of thing.

  2. Oh she is a little cutie! The pack look so comfortable huddled up, at least you know where they all are! Gosh that ice cream is enormous! X

    1. The dogs are like the children most loved when they're all asleep!

  3. Your dogs look as if they have commandeered the sofa, Ben manages to snag almost half of my sofa by his self. I do miss having a heap of dogs, at one point I had 3 ESS , a puppy of dubious origins and 2 cats.

    1. We had five dogs for years, seven is the most I've ever had. If I ever win the lottery the number would be limitless! At the moment we all have one each, if it was just me and hubby I don't think we could give each dog the individual attention they deserve! Saying that our life revolves round them and when the children are more independent we would actually have more time to devote to each dog!

    1. It was their first one of the year so we let him splurge. The ice-cream man said he'd had a blinding day and had already gone back to stock up once. The first bit of sunshine and us Brit get our shorts out and eat ice-cream!

    1. I figured if we got little dogs I could have more of them. Two or three take up the space of one middle sized! It seems to have worked so far!

  6. I loved seeing the dogs, they are all gorgeous. Little Tula is a delight, I have a real soft spot for scruffy dogs as you might have guessed.
